New Adult Volunteer Members

Thank you for your interest in becoming a 4-H adult volunteer. As a volunteer, you will play an important role in the development of young people, helping them to identify their spark and develop the skills and positive outcomes that lead to thriving. Below are the steps to becoming a volunteer. We look forward to working with you as a valuable asset to the 4-H Youth Development Program.

Steps to become a 4-H Adult Volunteer.

 

Step 1: Complete Interest Survey

Each adult volunteer applicant must complete an initial Volunteer Interest Survey.

 

Step 2: Enroll in ZSuite

Submit 4-H adult volunteer application in ZSuite. 
Create a family profile or add to your existing one, add a new adult enrollment, enter all required information, and submit. 4-H enrollment status will show as pending until all enrollment steps are completed.

The 4-H Enrollment System will be closed from June 23th through August 15th.

Enrollment for the 2023-2024 year will begin noon August 15th

 

Step 3: Pay 4-H Program Fees.

Submit your program fee online or to your county 4-H office.

4-H Adult enrollment fees for the 2023-2024 program year are $30.00. 

NOTE: $1.25 processing fee added for credit cards

 

Step 4: Complete eXtension Courses

Go to eXtension Campus website. Create a new account, check your email and click on the confirmation link, log into eXtension. Search  2023-2024 New Volunteer Course” (English) (Spanish), enter the enrollment key, then click enroll me. 

  • Level 1 Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect for UC Volunteers (45 min)
  • Abuse Risk Management for Volunteers (15 min) 
  • 4-H Orientation (40 min)
  • 2-Deep Policy Short (3.5 min)
  • Foundations of Positive Youth Development (20 min)

Step 5: Department of Justice Clearance 

Complete Live Scan clearance with the California State Department of Justice. 
Directions and form may be obtained on our Volunteering with UCCE webpage. Each entity requesting your fingerprints has their own reporting number; this is why you must complete this process even if you have been cleared by another organization in the past.

Submit ATI# after Live Scan Appointment
The Live Scan operator will fill out the bottom section of your form and provide you with a copy. Submit your ATI# to UCCE Staff for processing: https://forms.gle/D7Mf3LZh6NaDwXkZA

 

Step 6: Attend a New Adult Volunteer Orientation

Please check the New Adult Volunteer Orientation R.S.V.P. form for an orientation date and location that works for you and R.S.V.P. as soon as you can. This year there will be both virtual and in-person options.

Enrollment Completion

Once your county 4-H office reviews the enrollment, you will receive an email sent to your Family email account to confirm your enrollment status as Active.

Once your enrollment is active, you may begin 4-H activities!

You may access your 4-H Online profile at any time of the year to change what projects you are involved in, update your health information, etc. Note: The lead project leader must complete enrollment before their project will be made available to members.
