Event Details

                Concours d’Elegance is a classic car show on the grounds of Ironstone Winery in Murphys, hosted by the Ironstone Concours Foundation, a non-profit  organization that supports 4-H and FFA youth programs.

Amador County 4-H members and families volunteer to help with the event and in return, the Ironstone Concours Foundation helps support our program.

How can you help?

Participate in the Public Speaking Event! Public Speaking (10:15 – 11:15 a.m.) presentations: Demonstration/Illustrated Talk (individual or team), Interpretive Reading, Informative Prepared Speech, Persuasive Prepared Speech, Share the Fun (team), and Cultural Arts, followed by the Impromptu Speech Contest (11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.). Awards for the Impromptu Speech are given as follows: 3rd for the best Junior youth (ages 9-10), 2nd for the best Intermediate youth (ages 11-13), and 1st for the best Senior youth (ages 14-19).

Bring an Educational Display! Educational Displays are set up at the Hay Station Gate from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Members stay with their Educational Display and talk to the general public about their display, projects, and/or 4-H experience. The Educational Display can be about any 4-H project or activity. Small live animals are a particularly popular attraction.

Bake homemade cookies! Each county is responsible to supply 15 dozen homemade cookies for the award bags given to the car show winners. Cookies can be any kind, but please no frosting. To help make distribution easier, please put cookies, 4-6, in a Ziploc bag. All cookies need to be dropped off at the 4-H office on 9/22 before 5 p.m.

Volunteer to work in the different venues at the event. 4-H members of all ages and adults to supervise the members are needed to take tickets, hand out programs, assemble the award bags, and assist in the merchandise booth. All Stars and Leadership Team members help at the Gala Lunch and Awards Ceremony.
