New Adult Volunteer Members

Thank you for your interest in becoming a 4-H adult volunteer. As a volunteer, you will play an important role in the development of young people, helping them to identify their spark and develop the skills and positive outcomes that lead to thriving. Below are the steps to becoming a volunteer. We look forward to working with you as a valuable asset to the 4-H Youth Development Program.

Steps to become a 4-H Adult Volunteer.

Step 1: Complete Interest Survey

Each adult volunteer applicant must complete an initial Online 4-H Volunteer Interest Survey.

Step 2: Enroll in 4-H Online

Submit 4-H adult volunteer application in 4-H Online.
Create a family profile or add to your existing one, add a new adult enrollment, enter all required information, and submit. 4-H Online adult status will show as pending until all steps are completed.

4-H Online will be closed from June 24th through July 18th.
Enrollment for the 2022-2023 year will begin noon July 18th

Step 3: Pay 4-H Program Fees.

Submit your program fee online or to your county 4-H office.

Step 5: Department of Justice Clearance

Complete live-scan clearance with the State Department of Justice.
Directions and form may be obtained on our Volunteering with UCCE webpage. Each entity requesting your fingerprints has their own reporting number; this is why you must complete this process even if you have been cleared by another organization in the past.

Step 6: Attend a New Adult Volunteer Orientation

Please check the New Adult Volunteer Orientation R.S.V.P. form for an orientation date and location that works for you and R.S.V.P. as soon as you can. This year there will be both virtual and in-person options.

Enrollment Completion

Once your county 4-H office reviews the enrollment, you will receive an email sent to your Family email account to confirm your enrollment status as Active.

Once your enrollment is active, you may begin 4-H activities!

You may access your 4-H Online profile at any time of the year to change what projects you are involved in, update your health information, etc. Note: The lead project leader must complete enrollment before their project will be made available to members.

If you have any questions, please contact the Central Sierra 4-H office at 530-621-5503.
